Experience the transformative power of Ashtanga Yoga at Raw Yoga Jakarta. Rooted in tradition and discipline, Ashtanga is a dynamic and structured practice that synchronizes breath with a progressive series of postures.

This method is ideal for those seeking a balanced practice that fosters both physical vitality and mental clarity.

In our Mysore style classes, you practice at your own pace under the guidance of our experienced instructors. This personalized approach allows for deeper exploration and refinement of your practice, making it suitable for both beginners and advanced students.

Led Class: Our Led classes are guided by the teacher, with everyone moving in sync through the Ashtanga sequence. This is a great way to experience the collective energy of the group while fine-tuning your practice.

For those new to Ashtanga, we offer Intro to Ashtanga classes twice a week. These sessions are designed to familiarize you with the foundational elements of the practice, ensuring you feel confident and prepared before joining our Mysore classes.

What is Mysore-Style Ashtanga Yoga?

Mysore-style is the traditional and most effective way to learn Ashtanga Yoga. It offers a customized
approach in a group setting:

  • Learn at your own pace: Johnny will teach you the sequence step-by-step, adding postures as you progress.

  • Focus on alignment and breath: Develop a strong, mindful practice with attention to detail.

  • Receive hands-on adjustments: Tailored support to help you grow safely and confidently.

  • For everyone: Modifications and guidance are provided to suit individual needs and abilities.

Do I need to memorize the Ashtanga sequence?

Yes, memorizing the Ashtanga sequence is essential for practicing. It helps create a deeper connection to
the flow, promotes independence, and allows the practice to become meditative over time.

What's the difference between Asthanga Mysore and Led classes?

In Mysore classes, students practice the Ashtanga sequence at their own pace with personalized guidance and adjustments from the teacher, making it ideal for learning and progressing individually.
In contrast, Led classes are teacher-guided, with everyone moving through the sequence together
at a set pace, focusing on synchronization, discipline, and refining technique.
Both styles complement each other, with Mysore offering a self-paced approach and Led classes reinforcing group rhythm and structure.

What are the benefits of practicing Ashtanga in Mysore setting?
